Rich grew up next to a Wildlife Management Area in Sutton, a landscape once home to the first scientifically studied fish hatchery in the country. Surrounded by nature, he spent much of his time exploring the woods, developing a deep understanding of local plants and wildlife. This early connection to the land sparked his passion for environmental science and ecological stewardship.
Rich earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Worcester State University, where he further honed his knowledge of ecosystems and environmental management. After graduating, he worked as a Biologist and chemical technician for a local environmental company, gaining hands-on experience in habitat management and invasive species control.
As a Project Manager at Ruby Environmental Services, Rich specializes in invasive species management. He is licensed to apply herbicide in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, ensuring responsible and effective treatment strategies that support ecosystem health. Passionate about minimizing environmental impact, Rich is dedicated to selecting the least invasive and most ecologically responsible methods possible for controlling invasive plants. He prioritizes techniques that balance effective management with the protection of native ecosystems, striving for solutions that restore and sustain the land with minimal disruption.
Hannah has been deeply connected to nature and the environment since childhood, a passion that led to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Worcester State University in 2015. With a strong foundation in ecology, plant science, and conservation, she began her career working with the United States Department of Agriculture
Hannah has been deeply connected to nature and the environment since childhood, a passion that led to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Worcester State University in 2015. With a strong foundation in ecology, plant science, and conservation, she began her career working with the United States Department of Agriculture on the eradication of the invasive Asian Longhorned Beetle. This experience sparked a deeper understanding of invasive species management and its critical role in protecting ecosystems.
Hannah brings years of hands-on experience and specialized training in plant stewardship. She integrates holistic and science-based approaches to land care, including invasive species control and native plant restoration. She is committed to helping landowners and communities restore balance to their landscapes, combining traditional techniques with innovative solutions.
Beyond land restoration, Hannah is passionate about helping people reconnect with the land and develop a deeper understanding of the ecosystems around them. Through workshops, consulting, and community outreach, she empowers individuals to become active stewards of the land, fostering a relationship that is both sustainable and regenerative. She also advocates for sustainable gardening and native plant landscaping as key strategies for enhancing biodiversity and creating resilient ecosystems.
Ruby Environmental Services is built on the belief that thoughtful land management not only protects biodiversity but also strengthens the human connection to nature. Hannah continues to expand her knowledge, blending science with intuitive land healing practices to create meaningful, long-term environmental solutions.
